Easy Vegan Pumpkin Bread

Pumpkin BreadI truly enjoy baking with fresh ingredients that are in season because that is when they taste their absolute best. Pumpkin is the ultimate October veggie. Don’t you agree? Yesterday, I made my very first pumpkin bread and I am totally thrilled with the result. The bread has a distinct, delicious pumpkin taste and has a nice moist texture. Plus, it is super nutritious with 100% spelt flour and no added sugar.

I have had my fair share of bread-making disasters, hence when I found the recipe, my inner self didn’t immediately scream “Let’s do this!” Continue reading “Easy Vegan Pumpkin Bread”

Tips & Tricks: How to cut, seed and peel a pumpkin

How-to_Cut_PumpkinPreparing a pumpkin can be a pain in every sense of the word, if done incorrectly. To avoid unnecessary sweat and tears, I strongly suggest following the steps listed below.

  1. Position the pumpkin such that the stem is facing upward.
  2. Using a very sharp chef’s knife (also called cook’s knife), cut the pumpkin just beside the stem in half.
  3. Use a spoon to remove the seeds in each one of the two pumpkin halves.
  4. Cut the half with the stem in half; thereby leaving the stem intact.
  5. Cut off the stem and the not-so-edible part at the base.
  6. If desired, you can peel the pumpkin with a vegetable peeler.
  7. Cut the pumpkin in cubes.

PLEASE TAKE CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THIS TASK. TECHNIQUE MAY VARY, DEPENDING ON PUMPKIN.

Knife? Check! Arnie muscle power? Check! Get chopping!!!
